ANSWERS TO THE FOUR QUESTIONS ON MOLIERES' PYL

These are the answers to the questions to the first part of Moliere's PYL

1. According to the dictionary, a pretentious person is someone that is always exaggerating his/her importance, It is also an arrogant, conceited and egoistic person.
As for affectation, is acting unnaturally, not being yourself, and always pretending to be more valuable than others. This is exactly what Madelon and Cathos are. Two egoistic, arrogant, fake, conceited, and dramatic persons. they seemed not to know the meaning of respect and humbleness. they also dont realized how stupid they sound when they talk in that "smart manner". They dont know how act in society. They fake their personalities, so they could fit in their society.

2. In some part I agree with these two ladies. They are right in not wanting to talk to Du Groisy and La Grande. I think that they shouldnt have asked the girls about marrying them. It was too soon, and didnt even think about each others' interests. I think that a relationship should start as friendship. , or dating. not go right away into compromises and commitments. a couple should get married after they have enjoyed life to the fullest, and have experienced every single thing they want to experience. because when you get married you cannot accomplish weird or fun things by yourself. experiencing new things, places, meeting different people, going out with them, having new pleasures and lovers. What if I marry somebody today without getting to know that person really well, and then the next day I realized it was the worst thing I could have ever done in my life, I am so going to regret it for the rest of my life, whether I get divorced or not. It is better to get know other people and get to know other universes before getting married. This is why I agree with the girls. On the other hand, I dont agree on what they did to La Grande and Du Groisy. It was rude and disrespectful. Just because you dont like a person doesnt mean you have to be mean to them or disrespect them. I think they should have given at least attention and respect.

3.Moliere's opinion about how servants are treated seems to be favoring the servants. Servants were just slaves. They were ignored and disrespected by their owners. Moliere's shows how Madelon and Cathos didnt sympathize with the servants, and he also showed how servants, such as Marotte, didnt let Madelon put her down just because she didnt speak in the "right manner". Reality is that there are people that feel better than others, and they feel even better when they belittle others, as well.

4. Madelon and Cathos seemed to like men from the high class but with poetic attributes. They like men who talk about poetry and feel it in their insides. They love men who know how to convert simple words into long and difficult ones, even though they dont understand a word of it. These girls make believe how thrilling and interesting these words are. Nowadays, women look for a men with a higher education, as well as with a higher and well paid job. (i have seen this in most of my friends). But they might also fall for who they want to love, no matter what they are, they just fall for the one they love.
